Florida Canyon is recruiting for the following positions:

Safety, Security & Health Superintendent – Provide safety, security and health leadership, to ensure the company is in compliance with state and federal regulations and safety standards. Collaborates with the leadership team to improve safety performance, reduce workplace risks, raise safety awareness and improve work practices. Perform safety audits, inspections, investigation of incidents, near-miss incidents and occupational injuries to determine root-cause and recommend a corrective method. Manage Workers' Compensation and General liability claims. Provide technical support, guidance, coaching and mentoring to the workforce for building a continued safety culture through condition and behavioral based programs. Responsible for the administration of the industrial health program, site emergency response, new hire and annual refresher training. Bachelor's of Science Degree in Safety or equivalent in related field and a minimum of five (5) – seven (7) years of relevant safety experience, preferably in mining, heaving manufacturing or construction environment. Expert-level working knowledge of MSHA rules and requirements and competence in developing and implementing all aspects of an industry safety and health programs.
Mine Engineer – Primarily responsible for short term mine planning. Daily coordination with production supervision and crews required. Coordinate with geologic and senior engineering staff to develop long term mine plans, mine designs with ramps, haulage profiles, waste rock storage facilities, reclamation and permitting. Zero to five (5) years open pit mine engineering experience. Experience with VULCAN, Whittle, AutoCAD and Microsoft programs a plus. Bachelor's Diploma in Mining Engineering or related field required.
Maintenance Technicians – Perform preventative and routine maintenance on all mine equipment. Assist other mechanics as needed. Diagnose and repair maintenance problems. Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the position required.
Process Crusher Maintenance – Performs, recognizes mechanical repairs on crusher equipment, processer equipment, and pumping and piping systems. Installation and analysis of bearings, lube equipment, experience in welding/cutting equipment, identify and use basic hand tools. Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the position required.
Equipment Operator – Operate one or several types of mobile equipment, such as 100 ton off-road haul trucks, motor graders, bulldozers, scrapers, shovels, tractors, or front-end loaders to excavate, move, and grade earth. Operate in a safe manner, conduct pre and post shift inspections. May do minor repair and maintenance of equipment in addition to other duties such as labor work while equipment is down. Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the position required included but not limited to pushing fuel and brake pedal, sedentary for approximately nine hours.
Electrician – Installation, calibration, and repair of electrical systems up to and including 24,000 volts. Uses preventative maintenance techniques to ensure the highest availability. Two (2) – Five (5) years' experience. General knowledge and troubleshooting of PLC's, motor theory, control logic, calibrate multiple instruments and perform repairs on variable frequency drives, pumps, and conveyors – a plus. Operate hand tools, walk and stand on uneven and wet surfaces for extended periods of time, operate production machinery and equipment such as overhead cranes, values, gauges to perform maintenance functions.
Crusher Operator – Responsible for daily field level assessment of equipment and crusher site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions. Perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on loader, crusher, screens and conveyors. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Mine Operations Superintendent – The successful candidate will be a participating member of the Leadership Team in an open pit mining environment; must demonstrate active leadership in the management of the operation to ensure that health and safety, environmental, production, budget, cost and cash flow targets are achieved and continually improved upon; will manage the mine operations department including approximately 50 pieces of equipment, three crews of equipment operators; provide technical support for the 1.8 MM tons of ore and waste and 600,00 tons of re-handle per month average; perform other duties as assigned. Five (5) – Ten (10) years mining experience in progressive supervisory or technical roles required. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing required. Proven safe work record. Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Geology or related degree preferred.
Process Crusher/Site Maintenance Superintendent – The successful candidate will be a participating member of the Leadership Team. Responsible for directing activities of all Process Crusher/Site maintenance and planning functions of crushing, conveying, processing facility, electrical, refinery, carbon regeneration kiln in a 7.2 MM tons of ore crushed per annum facility. Ensure safe production goals are achieved. Development of short and long range preventive maintenance plans, staffing plans and budgeting. Five (5) – Ten (10) years process experience in Crusher Maintenance and Operations; supervisory experience required; Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering a plus.
Environmental Engineer – The successful candidate will be responsible to actively contribute to the environmental and safety program of Florida Canyon Mine. Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Basic knowledge of environmental compliance and monitoring functions required. Effective oral and written communication skills required. Current experience in different environmental areas related to surface metal mining (i.e. air, waste, water and lands) preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the position required.
Junior Accountant (Accounts Payable) – Responsible for the incoming AP invoices within the system, ensure all required approvals and receiving documents have been received with the correct invoices; prepare a listing of payables to be approved for payment; prepare checks and package for signing authorities; manage vendors in the system (add/delete/modify) with the most current vendor information and key contact information. Contact vendors to obtain invoices/accruals at month/quarter end; reconcile vendor balances/sub-ledgers to the general ledger; prepare and enter journal entries as required by supervisor; prepare bank reconciliations on a monthly basis; ensure checks issued have cleared. One (1) - Three (3) years of experience in accounting and/or accounts payable required. Must possess analytical and critical thinking ability.  Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or other related field preferred. Demonstrate ability to perform essential functions of the position required.
