Rye Patch has the following positions open at the Florida Canyon mine in Nevada.

Safety, Security & Health Superintendent

Provide safety, security and health leadership, to ensure the company is in compliance with state and federal regulations and safety standards. Collaborates with the leadership team to improve safety performance, reduce workplace risks, raise safety awareness and improve work practices. Perform safety audits, inspections, investigation of incidents, near-miss incidents and occupational injuries to determine root-cause and recommend a corrective method. Manage Workers’ Compensation and General liability claims. Provide technical support, guidance, coaching and mentoring to the workforce for building a continued safety culture through condition and behavioral based programs. Responsible for the administration of the industrial health program, site emergency response, new hire and annual refresher training. Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Safety or equivalent in related field and a minimum of five (5) – seven (7) years of relevant safety experience, preferably in mining, heaving manufacturing or construction environment. Expert-level working knowledge of MSHA rules and requirements and competence in developing and implementing all aspects of an industry safety and health programs.

Maintenance Technician

The successful candidate will maintain and repair a fleet of Cat 777 and 785, perform maintenance of support equipment including grader, dozer and rubber tire dozer, oil and filter replacement on all maintenance and operation equipment; perform other duties as assigned. Experience in mechanical maintenance of heavy equipment preferred. Working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic schematics required. Willingness to work in inclement weather conditions required. Ability to provide own tools required. Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, team-oriented and work with minimum supervision required Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with our without reasonable accommodations required. Proven safety record required. Excellent attendance record required.

Equipment Operator

Operate one or several types of mobile equipment, such as 100 ton off-road haul trucks, motor graders, bulldozers, scrapers, shovels, tractors, or front-end loaders to excavate, move, and grade earth. Operate in a safe manner, conduct pre and post shift inspections. May do minor repair and maintenance of equipment in addition to other duties such as labor work while equipment is down. Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the position required included but not limited to pushing fuel and brake pedal, sedentary for approximately nine hours.


Installation, calibration, and repair of electrical systems up to and including 24,000 volts. Uses preventative maintenance techniques to ensure the highest availability. Two (2) – Five (5) years’ experience. General knowledge and troubleshooting of PLC’s, motor theory, control logic, calibrate multiple instruments and perform repairs on variable frequency drives, pumps, and conveyors – a plus. Operate hand tools, walk and stand on uneven and wet surfaces for extended periods of time, operate production machinery and equipment such as overhead cranes, values, gauges to perform maintenance functions.

Crusher Operator

Responsible for daily field level assessment of equipment and crusher site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions. Perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on loader, crusher, screens and conveyors. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job.

Junior Accountant (Accounts Payable)

Responsible for the incoming AP invoices within the system, ensure all required approvals and receiving documents have been received with the correct invoices; prepare a listing of payables to be approved for payment; prepare checks and package for signing authorities; manage vendors in the system (add/delete/modify) with the most current vendor information and key contact information. Contact vendors to obtain invoices/accruals at month/quarter end; reconcile vendor balances/sub-ledgers to the general ledger; prepare and enter journal entries as required by supervisor; prepare bank reconciliations on a monthly basis; ensure checks issued have cleared. One (1) – Three (3) years of experience in accounting and/or accounts payable required. Must possess analytical and critical thinking ability. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or other related field preferred. Demonstrate ability to perform essential functions of the position required.

Administration Superintendent

Responsibility for the complete accounting function for an operating subsidiary of a public company that includes a team of five, reporting to the General Manager with a reporting line into the Group Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer. Tasks central to the function include; managing the monthly close processes, oversight of accounts payable and receivable, managing monthly inventory calculations and movements as it relates to leach pad and metals inventory, oversight of the payroll function, cash flow management on site and preparation of annual and quarterly budgets and variance reports. In addition, preparing for and leading the annual audit on site in coordination with the group controller will be a key task. The successful candidate will maintain appropriate internal controls and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. They will be responsible for accurate and timely production of all financial information. Must be organized, capable of managing multiple tasks to deadlines and effective in managing and delegating tasks to staff for effective team performance. As one of the team of Superintendents, the candidate must be comfortable with cross discipline communication and collaboration with other mine department personnel. Bachelor’s degree in accounting required a CPA is preferable, however those with a strong hands-on experience may also be considered. The ability to demonstrate technical knowledge of accounting theory and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is required and experience in mining or similar is an advantage but not necessarily essential. Experience with and knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards is also a plus.

IT Specialist

Responsible for designing, organizing, modifying and supporting the organizations computer systems. Support LANs, WANs, network segments, internet and intranet systems. Maintain system efficiency by making recommendation for future upgrades. Assign routing protocols and routing table configuration. Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and setting of personal computers as well as printers. Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, software, security updates and patches. Knowledge of programming languages and operating systems. Ability to plan, organize and document complex system design activities and to configure systems to be consistent. Three (3) – Five (5) years of experience in complex system design, programming systems software and support. Manage the operation and delivery of IT services to the site. Must be able to be self-directed with no supervision and ability to make decisions and exhibit collaborative skills. Provide customer interface with external and internal vendors, suppliers and mine site personnel.
